Playa del Ingles Gay Bars

Main locations of the Gay Bars

Yumbo Shopping centre

• The vast majority of gay bars are located in the Yumbo Shopping centre, the largest centre in Playa del Ingles

Cita Shopping Centre

A couple of Gay Bars located in the basement. The best entrance is down the ramp located just outside the Cita Centre wall in Av. de Francia near the Junction with Av. de Alemania'

It is also the home of Cafe Wein, the best Gay Cafe in Playa del Ingles

The Yumbo centre was build in an old quarry, i.e. a large open hole in the ground. Most of the centre is below street level which is called Planta 3 (Level 3).  The following will help you understand the Yumbo Maps on the different levels.

Floor 1 (Planta 1)   The bottom floor or ground floor, 2 levels below street level

Floor 2 (Planta 2)   1 level below street level

Floor 3 (Planta 3) Street Level

Floor 4 (Planta 4)  The Top floor. This floor is small and in the North West Corner and 1 level above street level. Floor 4 bars & clubs attract a younger crowd.

Bars to suit all tastes

The variety of bars is so great that there are gay venues to suit all tastes.

• For many the terrace bars are extremely popular, some in the after noonespecially the south facing bars, but mainly in the evening. Sit out on the terrace drinking your beer or sipping on some fanciful cocktail and watch all those gorgeous boys walking around the square in there droves. In winter you may need a thin pullover or light jacket if there is a strong breeze blowing.
• The Yumbo Boulevard.
• Music lovers can easily find a bar playing there choice of music style.
• If you enjoy comedy drag then you have several bars with excellent shows, these bars are also popular with the a straight audiance so you can have a very mixed crowd.
• If you want a bit of action then there are the bars with darkrooms, some have theme nights such as underpants only or nude nights. Note footwear must be worn. These bars have cloakroom facilities and the entrance fee usually included your first drink. Additional drinks are add3ed to your cloakroom number, this is usually on a rubber band you can keep around your wrist.
• Nightclub lovers can expect a late night, the clubs don't start to fill up until well after 2, or possibly 3am, as the late bars start closing.
